Overview

Dr. Ram Manohar Lohia Avadh University, commonly known as Avadh University, is a state university located in Faizabad, in the Ayodhya district of Uttar Pradesh, India. It was established in 1975 by the Government of Uttar Pradesh and is named after the socialist thinker and political leader Dr. Ram Manohar Lohia.

The university serves as a major centre of higher education in the Avadh region. It offers academic programmes through its residential postgraduate departments on campus, along with an on-campus Institute of Engineering. In addition to the residential teaching units, the university has a wide network of affiliated colleges spread across its jurisdiction.
