Overview
Dr. Abdul Haq Urdu University is a state public university located in Kurnool, Andhra Pradesh, India. It was established by the Government of Andhra Pradesh under the Andhra Pradesh State Legislature Act of 2016.
The university is named after Dr. Abdul Haq, an educationist and philanthropist from the Rayalaseema region, who is remembered as the founder of Osmania College, Kurnool.
As an Urdu-medium institution set up by the state, the university reflects efforts to promote higher education through the Urdu language in Andhra Pradesh.
