Overview
Dane James Vilas (born 10 June 1985) is a South African former cricketer who has since transitioned into cricket coaching. Born in Johannesburg in the Transvaal, he established himself as a wicketkeeper-batter before going on to represent his country at the highest level of the sport.
Vilas earned international recognition when he was selected for the South African national side. He made his Test debut for South Africa against Bangladesh on 30 July 2015, marking his entry into international cricket at the longest format of the game.
Following the conclusion of his playing career, Vilas moved into coaching, continuing his association with the sport in a different capacity.
