Overview
Damodaram Sanjivayya National Law University (DSNLU) is a National Law University located at Sabbavaram in Anakapalli district, Andhra Pradesh, India. It was constituted by the DSNLU Act, 2008 (Act No. 32 of 2008) of the Andhra Pradesh Legislative Assembly, which provided for the establishment of the university with its main campus at Visakhapatnam. The institution is named after Damodaram Sanjivayya, the second Chief Minister of Andhra Pradesh.
The university offers a five-year integrated B.A., LL.B. (Hons.) programme to undergraduate students. Admission to this course is made through the Common Law Admission Test (CLAT), the centralised admission process used by National Law Universities in India. At the postgraduate and research levels, DSNLU offers a one-year LL.M. programme as well as PhD and LL.D. programmes.
The university campus, known as Nyayaprastha, is situated at Sabbavaram and comprises a built-up area of 45.6 acres in its first phase of development. As one of the National Law Universities in the country, DSNLU forms part of the network of specialised legal education institutions established by State legislation in India.
