Background

The university is established and managed by the Charotar Education Society and the Kelavani Mandal trusts, which had previously promoted a number of constituent institutes in the Changa campus. CHARUSAT was constituted by bringing these institutes under a unified university framework, recognised by the Government of Gujarat as a private university and operating under the regulatory ambit of the University Grants Commission (UGC).
