CIET has been associated with the development and management of national digital platforms for school education, including repositories of e-textbooks, supplementary learning materials and content for teachers. It contributes to initiatives promoting open educational resources and ICT-enabled learning in line with national policies on education and digital learning.

Significance

As the technology arm of NCERT, CIET plays a central role in shaping the use of media and digital tools in Indian school education. Its work supports curriculum implementation, teacher professional development and equitable access to learning materials, particularly through broadcast and online channels that can reach learners across diverse regions and languages.
