Overview
Bhongir railway station (station code: BG) is an Indian Railways station serving the town of Bhongir (also spelt Bhuvanagiri) in the Yadadri Bhuvanagiri district of Telangana. It lies on the Secunderabad–Kazipet section of the Howrah–Chennai main line and is administered under the Secunderabad railway division of the South Central Railway zone.

Location and setting
The station is situated in the heart of Bhongir town, close to the prominent monolithic rock fortress known as Bhongir Fort, built in the 10th century by the Western Chalukya ruler Tribhuvanamalla Vikramaditya VI, after whom the town derives its name. Bhongir lies roughly between Secunderabad and Warangal, two of the major junctions on the route.
Lines and connectivity
Bhongir is a wayside station on the double-line, electrified Secunderabad–Kazipet corridor, which forms a vital trunk route linking southern India with eastern and northern India. The line carries a heavy mix of passenger, express and freight traffic. Local MMTS-style services and passenger trains between Secunderabad and Kazipet halt here, along with several express trains.
