Overview
Pramod Bhanuka Bandara Rajapaksa, popularly known as Bhanuka Rajapaksa, is a Sri Lankan professional cricketer who represents the national team in limited-overs internationals. Born on 24 October 1991 in Colombo, he is a left-handed batsman who bowls right-arm medium pace.
Rajapaksa enjoyed a prolific domestic career in Sri Lanka before earning international recognition. Although he made his first-class debut early in his career, his call-up to the national side came about a decade later, when he was named for the Twenty20 International series against Pakistan in 2019.
In July 2021, Sri Lanka Cricket imposed a one-year suspended ban on Rajapaksa across all formats of the game. The action was taken on grounds of breach of contract and for giving media interviews without obtaining the required permission from the board.
