Overview

The station is part of the Pink Line, which forms a half-ring corridor across Delhi linking Majlis Park in the north-west to Shiv Vihar in the north-east, with an interchange at Trilokpuri Sanjay Lake on the southern arc. Bhajanpura lies on the eastern stretch of this corridor, which runs largely along the Wazirabad Road through the trans-Yamuna areas.

Background

The Pink Line was constructed as part of Phase III of the Delhi Metro project. The eastern section serving Bhajanpura was developed to improve public transport access for residential and commercial neighbourhoods such as Yamuna Vihar, Bhajanpura, Khajuri Khas and Shiv Vihar, areas that previously depended primarily on road-based transit.

Layout and facilities

Like other elevated stations on the Pink Line, Bhajanpura station has side platforms with access from the concourse level via stairs, escalators and lifts. Standard DMRC facilities such as automatic fare collection gates, ticket counters, customer care, and security screening are provided. The trains operate on standard gauge.

Connectivity

The station is integrated with road-based transport along the Wazirabad–Loni road corridor, with feeder buses, auto-rickshaws and e-rickshaws providing last-mile connectivity to surrounding colonies in North East Delhi.

Significance

Bhajanpura station enhances rail-based access for North East Delhi, one of the most densely populated districts in the National Capital Territory. It links the locality to important nodes on the Pink Line and, via interchanges along the corridor, to other Delhi Metro lines serving central and southern Delhi.
