The station provides rail connectivity for Bhachau, a taluka headquarters in the Kachchh region. It functions as a wayside halt on the broad-gauge route that links the port-industrial belt around Gandhidham and Kandla with northern Gujarat and onward destinations through Palanpur.

Location and setting

Bhachau is situated in the eastern part of Kachchh, near the Little Rann of Kachchh. The station sits on the rail corridor that traverses the district from west to east, connecting the Gulf of Kachchh ports with the broader Indian rail network. Bhachau and the surrounding region were severely affected by the 2001 Gujarat earthquake, after which transport infrastructure in the area, including rail facilities, was rebuilt and upgraded.

Services

The station handles passenger services running on the Gandhidham–Palanpur and connected routes, with stoppages for selected mail, express and passenger trains. Goods traffic associated with the Kandla and Mundra port hinterland also passes through this section, making the line strategically significant for freight movement in western India.
