Overview

Belvedere Towers is one of the stations on the Rapid Metro Gurgaon line, a privately developed metro system that connects the cyber and commercial hubs of Gurugram with the Delhi Metro's Yellow Line at Sikanderpur. The station provides access to nearby office towers, residential blocks and retail complexes within the DLF Cyber City and DLF Phase II precincts.

Background

Rapid Metro Gurgaon was conceived as India's first fully privately financed metro rail network. The first phase, on which Belvedere Towers is located, links Sikanderpur on the Delhi Metro Yellow Line to stations across DLF Cyber City. The line was developed to address last-mile connectivity for the dense cluster of corporate offices in the area.

Operations

The station is part of a loop service operated as part of the Rapid Metro network. Following operational and contractual changes, the Rapid Metro system was taken over by the Haryana Mass Rapid Transport Corporation and integrated with the wider Delhi Metro Rail Corporation (DMRC) operations, ensuring continued service at Belvedere Towers and other stations on the corridor.

Layout

As with other stations on the Rapid Metro corridor, Belvedere Towers is an elevated station with side platforms serving trains in both directions of the loop. Standard facilities include automated fare collection gates, ticket counters, escalators and lifts.

Significance

The station forms part of an important commuter link for office workers travelling between Delhi and Gurugram's central business district. By feeding into Sikanderpur, it allows seamless transfer onto the Delhi Metro Yellow Line, reducing road traffic on the busy NH-48 corridor and within Cyber City.
