Background

Bauria is an industrial neighbourhood in the Uluberia community development block of Howrah district, historically associated with jute mills, cotton manufacturing and chemical units established along the Hooghly. The railway station provides daily commuter access to Howrah, Santragachi, Uluberia and other points along the South Eastern Railway's suburban corridor.

Line and connectivity

The station is located on the Howrah–Kharagpur section, one of the busiest railway corridors in eastern India. This route forms part of the historic alignment that connects Kolkata with Chennai via the Howrah–Chennai main line. Local Electric Multiple Unit (EMU) services link Bauria with Howrah Junction in the north and with stations such as Uluberia, Bagnan, Mecheda and Kharagpur to the south.
