Bata Chowk is an elevated metro station on the Violet Line of the Delhi Metro, located in the city of Faridabad in the Indian state of Haryana. The station serves the area around Bata Chowk, a prominent road junction in Faridabad named after the Bata Shoe Company factory historically located in the vicinity.

Background

The Violet Line of the Delhi Metro connects Kashmere Gate in central Delhi with Raja Nahar Singh in Ballabhgarh, passing through south Delhi and the satellite city of Faridabad. The extension of the line into Faridabad significantly improved mass transit connectivity between the National Capital Territory of Delhi and the industrial townships of southern Haryana.

Location and surroundings

The station is built along the Mathura Road corridor and serves residential, commercial and institutional neighbourhoods of central Faridabad. The area around Bata Chowk is one of the busier commercial belts of the city, with markets, offices and access roads leading into adjoining sectors.

Station layout

As an elevated station on the Violet Line, Bata Chowk follows the standard DMRC configuration with a ground-level entry, a concourse level housing ticketing and security facilities, and a platform level above. The station is equipped with lifts, escalators, automatic fare collection gates and standard passenger amenities.

Connectivity

The station is served by city buses and auto-rickshaws operating along Mathura Road and connecting roads, providing last-mile connectivity to residential sectors of Faridabad.

Significance

Bata Chowk is among the stations that brought rapid transit access to Faridabad, reducing road travel times between the city and Delhi. It supports daily commuter flows of office-goers, students and shoppers travelling to and from the National Capital Region.
