Overview
Balugaon railway station is a railway station serving the town of Balugaon in the Khordha district of Odisha, India. It lies on the Howrah–Chennai main line and is operated by the East Coast Railway zone of Indian Railways. The station provides connectivity to a small lakeside town situated on the western shore of Chilika Lake, the largest brackish water lagoon in Asia.

The station is situated in Balugaon, a town that functions as a notable trading point on the edge of Chilika Lake. The proximity to the lagoon makes the station a common access point for travellers visiting Chilika and nearby destinations such as Nalabana Bird Sanctuary and Kalijai Temple. Balugaon falls between the larger junctions of Khurda Road and Brahmapur on the coastal trunk corridor.
