Club career
Bala Devi has played extensively in Indian women's domestic football, representing Manipuri sides in the national women's championship and turning out in the Indian Women's League (IWL) after its launch in 2016–17. She has been associated with Manipur Police Sports Club, one of the dominant clubs in Indian women's football.
In January 2020 she signed an 18-month contract with Scottish Women's Premier League club Rangers F.C., becoming the first Indian woman footballer to be contracted as a professional with an overseas top-division club. She made her debut for Rangers later that year and went on to score in the Scottish league, becoming the first Indian woman to score in a top-tier European league.
International career
Bala Devi has represented the India women's national team across multiple editions of the SAFF Women's Championship and AFC qualification campaigns. She has been a regular goal-scorer for India and has captained the side, ranking among the country's all-time leading scorers in international women's football.
