Background
The Bahadurgarh extension of the Green Line was developed as part of Phase III of the Delhi Metro project. The extension runs westward from Mundka in Delhi, crossing the Delhi–Haryana border, and was undertaken to ease road congestion on the Delhi–Rohtak corridor (National Highway 9) and to integrate Bahadurgarh's industrial and residential clusters with the Delhi metropolitan transit network.
History
The Mundka–Bahadurgarh extension was opened to passenger service in 2018, with Bahadurgarh City among the new stations commissioned on the section. The corridor was constructed on an elevated alignment along the highway, with the cost shared between the Government of Haryana and the Government of India through DMRC.
Station layout
The station follows the standard elevated configuration used on the Green Line extension, with a ground-level entry, a concourse level housing fare gates and ticketing, and a platform level above. Standard amenities include automatic fare collection gates, ticket vending facilities, escalators, lifts, and CCTV surveillance.
Connectivity
The station provides feeder access to local areas of Bahadurgarh, including markets, residential colonies, and industrial belts that lie close to the highway corridor. Road-based public transport, including buses and auto-rickshaws operating along the Delhi–Rohtak route, complement the metro service.
Significance
Bahadurgarh City station is part of one of the earliest Delhi Metro corridors to extend deep into a Haryana town beyond the National Capital Territory. The arrival of the metro is widely regarded as a turning point in the urban transport profile of Bahadurgarh, supporting daily commuter movement between the town and Delhi.
