Overview

Badkhal Mor lies on the southern extension of the Violet Line, which connects Kashmere Gate in central Delhi to Raja Nahar Singh in Ballabhgarh, passing through several stations in Faridabad. The station provides metro access to commuters travelling between Faridabad and Delhi, and is part of one of the busier suburban corridors of the National Capital Region (NCR).

Background

The Violet Line was originally opened between Central Secretariat and Sarita Vihar in 2010, and was progressively extended southward. The Badarpur–YMCA Chowk (Faridabad) extension brought the metro into Haryana for the first time, opening the corridor that includes Badkhal Mor to passenger service. A further extension subsequently took the line up to Raja Nahar Singh in Ballabhgarh.

Layout

As an elevated station, Badkhal Mor follows the standard Delhi Metro template with a street-level entry, a concourse for ticketing and security checks, and platforms above. The platforms serve trains in both directions of the Violet Line.

  • Northbound: towards Kashmere Gate via Central Secretariat.
  • Southbound: towards Raja Nahar Singh via Old Faridabad.

Connectivity

The station is named after the Badkhal Mor junction on the Mathura Road corridor and offers access to local road transport, autorickshaws and cycle rickshaws. It is situated in proximity to residential sectors of Faridabad and provides indirect access to the Badkhal Lake area.

Significance

Stations on the Faridabad stretch of the Violet Line, including Badkhal Mor, played a notable role in extending rapid transit beyond the borders of Delhi into Haryana, easing road congestion on the Delhi–Mathura highway and offering a faster commute for residents of Faridabad working in Delhi.
