Background

The original Appu Ghar was established in 1984 in Pragati Maidan, New Delhi, named after Appu, the elephant mascot of the 1982 Asian Games hosted by the city. It became one of India's earliest large-scale amusement parks and a popular family destination for over two decades. The park was closed in 2008 when its land was reclaimed for redevelopment associated with the Supreme Court complex expansion.

Following the closure of the Delhi facility, the Appu Ghar brand was revived in Gurgaon, capitalising on the rapid urbanisation of the city and the demand for organised leisure infrastructure in the NCR.

The Gurgaon park is positioned primarily as a water park, featuring a range of slides, wave pools, rain dance areas, and themed water attractions. It also incorporates dry rides and family entertainment zones.
