He is widely regarded for his role in Bengal's 2019–20 Ranji Trophy campaign, in which the team reached the final of the competition. During the knockout stages of that season, Majumdar contributed important middle-order innings that helped Bengal advance through the quarter-final and semi-final, drawing renewed attention to a long career that had until then been spent largely outside the national spotlight.
Style and significance
Majumdar is known as a dependable middle-order batsman, often called upon to consolidate the innings after the loss of early wickets. His longevity in the Bengal side, alongside players such as Manoj Tiwary and Wriddhiman Saha, has made him one of the more experienced figures in eastern Indian domestic cricket.
