Overview
Andul railway station is a railway station serving the town of Andul in the Howrah district of West Bengal, India. It lies on the Howrah–Kharagpur line of the South Eastern Railway zone of Indian Railways and functions primarily as a suburban halt for commuters travelling between Howrah and the southern suburbs of the Kolkata metropolitan area.

Background
Andul is a historic locality in the Sankrail community development block of Howrah district, situated to the south-west of the city of Howrah. The railway station takes its name from the town and lies on one of the busiest rail corridors in eastern India, connecting Howrah Junction with Kharagpur Junction and onward to destinations in southern West Bengal, Odisha and beyond.
Lines and services
The station is served by local EMU services of the Howrah–Kharagpur and Howrah–Panskura suburban sections, which form part of the Kolkata Suburban Railway network operated by South Eastern Railway. Several mainline passenger trains also halt at Andul, providing connectivity towards Mecheda, Panskura, Kharagpur, Midnapore and Digha.
Layout
The station has multiple platforms catering to up and down traffic on the double-electrified broad-gauge route. Like other stations on this corridor, it is electrified with 25 kV AC overhead lines, allowing operation of electric multiple units and locomotive-hauled trains.
Significance
As a suburban station near Kolkata, Andul handles substantial daily commuter traffic. It serves residential neighbourhoods of Andul–Mauri and adjacent areas, and provides access to local landmarks including the Andul Rajbari, a historic palace associated with the zamindar family of Andul.
