Background
The Kochi Metro is the rapid transit system serving the Kochi metropolitan region. The first phase of the project was implemented by Kochi Metro Rail Limited, a joint venture between the Government of India and the Government of Kerala, with technical execution support from the Delhi Metro Rail Corporation (DMRC) during construction. The system uses standard-gauge rolling stock and a 750 V DC third-rail traction system.
Station and connectivity
The station is located along the metro alignment that runs broadly parallel to the National Highway corridor in the northern Kochi suburbs. It serves residential neighbourhoods in and around the Ambattukavu locality and is integrated with the wider Kochi Metro fare and ticketing system, including smart card and QR-based ticketing options offered by KMRL.

Significance
As an intermediate station on the Blue Line, Ambattukavu contributes to the metro's role in reducing road congestion along the Aluva–Kochi corridor and improving public transport access for commuters travelling to employment, education and commercial hubs in the city.
