Overview
All India Institute of Medical Sciences, Nagpur (AIIMS Nagpur) is a public medical research and higher education institute located at the Multi-modal International Cargo Hub and Airport at Nagpur (MIHAN) in Nagpur, Maharashtra, India. The institute functions as an autonomous body under the Ministry of Health and Family Welfare, Government of India.
AIIMS Nagpur is one of the four "Phase-IV" All India Institutes of Medical Sciences announced in July 2014. The AIIMS network was created to expand tertiary healthcare capacity, medical education and research across different regions of India, and the Nagpur institute serves the central Indian region as part of this initiative.
Like other AIIMS institutions, it offers undergraduate and postgraduate medical education along with patient care services and research activities. Dr Prashant P. Joshi serves as the Executive Director of AIIMS Nagpur, having been appointed to the position in February 2024.
