Overview
All India Institute of Medical Sciences, Guwahati (AIIMS Guwahati) is a public medical institute and hospital located in Guwahati, Assam. It functions under the Ministry of Health and Family Welfare, Government of India, and is one of the institutes established under the All India Institutes of Medical Sciences (AIIMS) network.
The foundation stone of the institute was laid by Prime Minister Narendra Modi on 26 May 2017. The institute was subsequently inaugurated by Prime Minister Narendra Modi on 14 April 2023.
AIIMS Guwahati offers an undergraduate MBBS programme with an annual intake of 100 students. Academic activity commenced in January 2021 with the first batch of 50 MBBS students.
