Overview
All India Institute of Medical Sciences, Deoghar (AIIMS Deoghar) is a medical institute and hospital located in Deoghar, Jharkhand, India. It is one of the All India Institutes of Medical Sciences (AIIMS) established by the Government of India to expand tertiary healthcare and medical education across the country.
The institute commenced operations in 2019. It functions autonomously under the Ministry of Health and Family Welfare, Government of India, and is part of the network of AIIMS hospitals set up under the Pradhan Mantri Swasthya Suraksha Yojana (PMSSY), a scheme aimed at correcting regional imbalances in the availability of affordable and reliable tertiary healthcare services.
AIIMS Deoghar is recognised as an Institute of National Importance in India. Like other AIIMS, it is intended to combine the functions of a medical college, a teaching hospital, and a centre for research, offering services in clinical care alongside academic and training programmes.
