Overview
All India Institute of Medical Sciences, Bhubaneswar (AIIMS Bhubaneswar), formerly known as Netaji Subhas Chandra Bose All India Institute of Medical Sciences, is a medical college and medical research public university located in Bhubaneswar, Odisha, India. It functions as one of the AIIMS group of institutions established to expand tertiary healthcare and medical education in the country.
The institute operates autonomously under the aegis of the Ministry of Health and Family Welfare, Government of India. As an AIIMS, it combines the roles of a teaching institution, a research university and a referral hospital.
The foundation stone of the institute was laid by the then Prime Minister Atal Bihari Vajpayee on 15 July 2003, and AIIMS Bhubaneswar was established in 2012.
