Direct services connect Alappuzha to destinations including Thiruvananthapuram, Ernakulam, Kannur, Mangaluru, Chennai, Bengaluru, and other cities, with several trains originating or terminating at the station.

  • Multiple platforms with passenger amenities such as waiting halls and refreshment stalls.
  • Computerised reservation and unreserved ticket counters.
  • Foot overbridge connecting platforms.
  • Road access linking the station to the town centre, KSRTC bus station, and the boat jetty.

Significance

As the rail gateway to Alappuzha, the station plays an important role in tourism, particularly during the boat race season and the peak backwater tourism months, while also serving daily commuter and freight needs of the surrounding district.
