Akshardham Metro Station
Akshardham is an elevated metro station on the Blue Line of the Delhi Metro, serving the Akshardham area in East Delhi, National Capital Territory of Delhi, India. The station is named after the adjacent Swaminarayan Akshardham temple complex, one of the largest Hindu temple complexes in the country, and primarily caters to visitors of the temple as well as residents of the surrounding neighbourhoods.

Location and layout
The station is located along National Highway 9 (the Noida link road) in East Delhi, near the western bank of the Yamuna river. It is positioned between Yamuna Bank and Mayur Vihar – I on the Blue Line. The station has an elevated configuration typical of the Blue Line corridor east of the Yamuna, with concourse and platform levels accessed by stairs, escalators and lifts.
The Blue Line
The Blue Line is the longest line of the Delhi Metro and connects Dwarka Sector 21 in the west with Noida Electronic City and Vaishali in the east, the latter via a branch that diverges at Yamuna Bank. Akshardham lies on the main corridor, providing onward connectivity towards central and west Delhi as well as Noida in Uttar Pradesh.
Significance
The station's principal significance lies in its role as the nearest metro access point to the Swaminarayan Akshardham temple, which draws large numbers of pilgrims and tourists. It also serves the residential and commercial pockets along the Noida link road and the Commonwealth Games Village area developed for the 2010 Commonwealth Games.
