Background

Akashdeep Singh emerged through India's age-group hockey structure and progressed to the senior national side in the early 2010s. He represents the country in international competitions organised under the International Hockey Federation (FIH) and the Asian Hockey Federation (AHF).

Career

As a forward, Akashdeep has been a regular member of the Indian squad in major tournaments, contributing both as a finisher and as a link between the midfield and the attack. He has featured in editions of the Hockey World Cup, the Asian Games, the Asia Cup, the Champions Trophy and the FIH Pro League / World League cycles in which India has participated.

At the domestic level, he has played in the Hockey India League, the franchise-based competition that ran in India from 2013, where he turned out for league sides alongside Indian and overseas internationals.

Playing style

Akashdeep is generally deployed on the right side of the attack.
