Background
Ajay Dutt entered electoral politics through the Aam Aadmi Party, a political outfit founded in 2012 by Arvind Kejriwal and associates that grew out of the India Against Corruption movement. He has contested from the Ambedkar Nagar Assembly constituency, which falls in the South Delhi region and is reserved for candidates from the Scheduled Castes (SC).
Political career
Dutt has represented Ambedkar Nagar in the Delhi Vidhan Sabha as an AAP legislator. The constituency has been part of the AAP's strong electoral base in Delhi during the wave elections in which the party formed successive state governments under Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal.
