Adikavi Nannaya University (IAST: Ādikavi Nannaya Viśvavidyālayamu) is a state university located in Rajahmundry, Andhra Pradesh, India. Established in 2006, it is named after Nannayya, the first attested author of a text composed in the Telugu language. The university serves the educational needs of the two Godavari districts and functions as the affiliating university for several postgraduate institutes and undergraduate colleges in the region.

Background
The university was set up to cater to higher education in the East and West Godavari districts of Andhra Pradesh. Prior to its formation, colleges in these districts were affiliated with Andhra University, based at Visakhapatnam. With the creation of Adikavi Nannaya University, affiliation of these institutions was transferred to the new university.
History
- 22 April 2006: The university was established through the Government of Andhra Pradesh Act No. 28 of 2006.
- Following its establishment, the postgraduate institutes and undergraduate colleges of the Godavari districts that had previously been affiliated with Andhra University came under its jurisdiction.
- The university subsequently launched a programme in Geo-Informatics and Petroleum Exploration, described as the first of its kind in Andhra Pradesh and among the few in India.
- In a second phase of academic expansion, in line with the state government's policy of encouraging five-year integrated courses, the university introduced an integrated course in Mathematics and Computing aimed at producing trained personnel for the information technology industry.
