Imam came to prominence with his role as Yuvraj Luthra in Zee TV's Tashan-E-Ishq, a performance for which he received Gold Awards in the Best Actor in a Negative Role category. He went on to play Neil Khanna in the Star Plus serial Naamkaran, one of his most widely recognised roles in Hindi television.
He later appeared as Agastya Raichand in Fanaa: Ishq Mein Marjawan, continuing his work in primetime Hindi fiction programming.
