Yeh Hai Mohabbatein is an Indian Hindi-language soap opera that aired on the general entertainment channel Star Plus. The series was produced by Ekta Kapoor and Shobha Kapoor under their banner Balaji Telefilms. It was loosely adapted from the novel The Bad Boy's Girl by Indian author Manjul Bajaj's contemporaries, though the show's storyline draws more directly from the novel Custody by Manju Kapur. The serial ran for several years and became one of the long-running prime-time dramas on Indian television.

The show was developed by Balaji Telefilms, one of India's most prolific television production houses, known for serials such as Kyunki Saas Bhi Kabhi Bahu Thi and Kasautii Zindagii Kay. Yeh Hai Mohabbatein was conceived as a family drama centred on second marriages, blended families, and the conflicts that arise from custody and remarriage—themes drawn from Manju Kapur's novel Custody.
The narrative follows Dr. Ishita Iyer, a Tamil Brahmin dentist based in Delhi, and Raman Bhalla, a Punjabi businessman who is a divorcee with a young daughter, Ruhi. Despite cultural differences between their families, Ishita and Raman marry primarily so that Ishita can care for Ruhi, whose biological mother Shagun had left the family. The series chronicles the evolution of their relationship, the dynamics of the joint Bhalla household in Delhi, and recurring conflicts involving custody, infidelity, and family rivalries. Later seasons introduced generational leaps and new antagonists.
The show premiered on Star Plus on 3 December 2013 in the prime-time slot. It was shot primarily in Mumbai, with the storyline set in Delhi. The production used a daily soap format with episodes typically of around 22 minutes, airing on weekdays. The series concluded on 20 December 2019 after running for over 1,500 episodes.
During its run, Yeh Hai Mohabbatein consistently featured in the top-rated Hindi general entertainment programmes as measured by BARC (Broadcast Audience Research Council). The pairing of Divyanka Tripathi and Karan Patel was widely popular and contributed to the show's longevity. The series received multiple Indian Television Academy Awards, Star Parivaar Awards, and Indian Telly Awards across its broadcast period, with Tripathi winning recognition in lead actress categories on several occasions.
A sequel titled Yeh Hai Chahatein premiered on Star Plus on 19 December 2019, also produced by Balaji Telefilms. While set in the same fictional universe with brief crossover appearances, it features an entirely new cast and storyline.
Episodes of the serial were also made available on the Disney+ Hotstar platform (formerly Hotstar), where the complete series can be streamed.
