Venkataraman Subramanya

Venkataraman Subramanya is an Indian former first-class cricketer who represented India in Test cricket. He played his domestic cricket primarily for Mysore (the side that was later renamed Karnataka) in the Ranji Trophy.

Career

Subramanya appeared in Test matches for India during the 1960s. At the domestic level, he was associated with the Mysore state team in the Ranji Trophy, the principal first-class competition in Indian cricket. The Mysore side, based in Bangalore, was renamed Karnataka in 1973.

Subramanya is part of the generation of Indian cricketers who featured in Tests during a period when Indian cricket was establishing itself in the international arena. His career also forms part of the early history of organised cricket in the southern Indian state that became Karnataka.
