After Gulshan Kumar's death, her elder brother Bhushan Kumar took over the company and later expanded it into film production through T-Series Films. Tulsi grew up surrounded by the music industry and trained in Hindustani classical music before turning to playback singing.

Career

Beginnings

Tulsi Kumar made her playback debut as a teenager with the song "Jaane Kya Chahe Mann Bawra" from the film Chup Chup Ke (2006), composed by Himesh Reshammiya. The same year she contributed to the soundtrack of Aap Ki Khatir, including the song "Humko Maloom Hai" alongside Himesh Reshammiya.

Establishment as a playback singer

Through the late 2000s and 2010s, she sang for a range of Bollywood productions, often on T-Series soundtracks. Notable songs include "Tum Jo Aaye" from Once Upon a Time in Mumbaai (2010), "Saiyaara" reprise from Ek Tha Tiger (2012), and various tracks for films released under T-Series.

Singles and reprises

Tulsi Kumar has been featured prominently in T-Series's non-film single and reprise output. Songs in this category include "Soch Na Sake" (a duet from Airlift, 2016), "Tera Ban Jaunga" from Kabir Singh (2019), and "Tum Hi Aana" recreations associated with Marjaavaan (2019). She has also recorded several reprise versions and unplugged renditions for the label's digital platforms.

Devotional music

Following the family tradition established by Gulshan Kumar, who was widely associated with bhajans and devotional cassettes, Tulsi Kumar has recorded devotional albums and songs, including renditions of the Hanuman Chalisa and aartis released through T-Series's bhakti catalogue.
