Dhulia has appeared as an actor in several Hindi films, often in authoritative or menacing supporting roles. His acting credits include:
Before and alongside his film career, Dhulia wrote and worked on Hindi television serials in the 1990s. He returned to long-form storytelling through web series in the late 2010s and 2020s, including the political drama Garmi, which revisited the campus-politics terrain of Haasil.
Dhulia established his own production banner, under which several of his later films, including instalments of the Saheb, Biwi Aur Gangster franchise, were produced or co-produced.
Tigmanshu Dhulia's filmography is identified with a distinctive north Indian idiom that draws on regional dialect, feudal politics, caste dynamics and the dacoit and gangster traditions of the Chambal and eastern Uttar Pradesh. Paan Singh Tomar, in particular, is regarded as a landmark biographical film of the 2010s and brought wider recognition to both Dhulia and lead actor Irrfan Khan. His Saheb, Biwi Aur Gangster trilogy is among the few multi-film franchises in Hindi cinema centred on a single feudal household and its intrigues.
