Suravaram Pratap Reddy Telugu University is a state public university located in Hyderabad, the capital of Telangana, India. The institution is dedicated to the study, promotion, and preservation of the Telugu language, literature, culture, fine arts, and folk traditions. It is named after Suravaram Pratap Reddy (1896–1953), a prominent journalist, historian, and literary figure from the Telangana region, best known for his pioneering cultural history Andhrula Sanghika Charitra.

The university traces its origins to the Telugu University established in Hyderabad in 1985, which was created to serve as an apex institution for higher learning and research in Telugu studies. Following the bifurcation of the erstwhile state of Andhra Pradesh and the formation of Telangana in 2014, the Government of Telangana reorganised the institution within its jurisdiction. It was subsequently renamed in honour of Suravaram Pratap Reddy, recognising his significant contribution to Telangana's literary and cultural heritage.

Suravaram Pratap Reddy was a writer, editor of the Golconda Patrika, and a leading figure in the Andhra Mahasabha movement in Hyderabad State during the first half of the twentieth century. His historiographical work on the social history of the Andhras remains influential, and he is widely regarded as a foundational figure in modern Telangana literature.
