Sujatha (10 December 1952 – 6 April 2011) was an Indian actress who appeared predominantly in Tamil, Malayalam and Telugu films, with additional credits in Kannada and Hindi cinema. Across a career spanning several decades, she came to be regarded for the restraint and subtlety with which she portrayed a wide range of emotions on screen.

Sujatha began her acting career in Malayalam, her mother tongue, and went on to feature in numerous films in the Malayalam industry before expanding her work to other South Indian languages.
After establishing herself in Malayalam films, Sujatha was introduced to Tamil cinema by the veteran director K. Balachander. She played the protagonist in her first Tamil film, Aval Oru Thodar Kathai (1974), a project that marked her arrival in the Tamil film industry.
Alongside her Malayalam and Tamil filmographies, Sujatha appeared in Telugu cinema, and took on a smaller number of roles in Kannada and Hindi films, making her one of the actresses of her generation to work across multiple Indian film industries.
Sujatha was particularly noted for her understated screen presence. Her ability to convey varied emotions with restraint and subtlety distinguished her performances and contributed to her standing as a respected actress in South Indian cinema.
