Sriimurali

Overview

Sri Murali Gowda (born 17 December 1981), known professionally as Sriimurali and sometimes credited as Murali, is an Indian actor who works predominantly in Kannada cinema. He belongs to a family with roots in the Kannada film industry and has built a career largely centred on lead roles.

Sriimurali made his debut as a lead actor in 2003 with Chandra Chakori. He followed this with Kanti, in which he played the title role. His performance in the film earned him the Karnataka State Film Award for Best Actor in 2004, marking an early recognition of his work.

In 2014, Sriimurali featured in Ugramm, which received wide praise and emerged as a major commercial success. The film is generally regarded as a turning point in his career and helped establish him as a prominent figure in Kannada cinema.

He continued to take on lead roles in the years that followed. For his performance in the 2024 film Bagheera, he was honoured with the Filmfare Award for Best Actor (Kannada).
