Sobhita Dhulipala

Sobhita Dhulipala (born 31 May 1992) is an Indian actress and beauty pageant titleholder who works predominantly in Hindi, Telugu, Tamil and Malayalam cinema. She first gained national attention as a finalist at the Femina Miss India 2013 pageant, and later established herself as a leading actress through her role in the Amazon Prime Video series Made in Heaven (2019–2023).

Background

Dhulipala is of Telugu origin. She entered public life through the modelling and pageant circuit, and was a finalist at the Femina Miss India 2013 pageant, where she won the Femina Miss India Earth 2013 runner-up title. She subsequently represented India at the Miss Earth 2013 international pageant.

Career

Film debut and early roles

Dhulipala made her acting debut in Anurag Kashyap's Hindi neo-noir psychological thriller Raman Raghav 2.0 (2016). Her early work drew attention for its choice of unconventional, director-driven projects rather than mainstream commercial cinema.

Breakthrough with Made in Heaven

She played the lead role of a Delhi-based wedding planner in the Amazon Prime Video series Made in Heaven, which streamed across two seasons between 2019 and 2023. The show brought her wider recognition and is regarded as her breakthrough work.

Multilingual film work

Dhulipala has worked across several Indian language industries. Her credits include the Telugu spy thriller Goodachari (2018) and the biographical action film Major (2022); the Malayalam films Moothon (2019) and Kurup (2021); and Mani Ratnam's two-part Tamil historical epic Ponniyin Selvan: I (2022) and Ponniyin Selvan: II (2023). She also featured in the Hindi crime thriller series The Night Manager (2023).

International work

Dhulipala expanded to American cinema with the action thriller Monkey Man (2024), directed by Dev Patel.

Personal life

Dhulipala is married to actor Naga Chaitanya.
