Sinhgad College of Engineering is part of the wider Sinhgad Institutes group, which encompasses engineering, management, pharmacy, architecture, law, and school-level education. The college caters primarily to students from Maharashtra and other Indian states who pursue degrees through the standard four-year Bachelor of Engineering (B.E.) framework as well as Master of Engineering (M.E.) and doctoral programmes in select disciplines. Like other engineering colleges affiliated to SPPU, the institution follows the university's syllabus, examination calendar, and credit structure.
The college offers undergraduate B.E. programmes across a range of conventional and contemporary engineering disciplines. Typical departments at SCOE include:
Postgraduate offerings generally include M.E. specialisations linked to these departments, such as structural engineering, computer engineering, design engineering, heat power, and VLSI and embedded systems. Several departments are recognised as research centres of Savitribai Phule Pune University, allowing them to enrol candidates for the Ph.D. programme. Curriculum delivery combines theory lectures, laboratory work, mini-projects, industrial visits, internships, and a final-year capstone project, in keeping with the university's pattern.
The Vadgaon (Budruk) campus, situated on the Sinhgad Road corridor in southwestern Pune, houses academic blocks, departmental laboratories, drawing halls, computing centres, workshops, and a central library. Common facilities provided across the Sinhgad campuses include hostels for boys and girls, a sports ground, a gymnasium, transport arrangements, a medical room, and a cafeteria. Departmental laboratories support coursework in areas such as thermodynamics, fluid mechanics, materials testing, surveying, electronic circuits, microprocessors, networking, and software development.
The library maintains collections of textbooks, reference works, technical journals, and access to digital resources and e-journal databases relevant to engineering disciplines. Wi-Fi connectivity, computer centres, and seminar halls support academic, training, and event activities.
Admission to undergraduate programmes is conducted through the centralised admission process (CAP) administered by the State Common Entrance Test Cell, Government of Maharashtra. Candidates are admitted on the basis of their performance in the MHT-CET examination; applicants from outside Maharashtra and certain quotas may also use JEE (Main) scores in line with state policy. A portion of seats is filled under the institute level quota as per rules notified by the competent authority.
Admissions to M.E. programmes are carried out through the state-level GATE/PG-CET counselling process, while doctoral admissions are governed by the rules of Savitribai Phule Pune University.
Student activities at SCOE are organised through departmental associations, technical chapters, and cultural and sports committees. Many departments host student chapters of professional bodies such as the Computer Society of India (CSI), Indian Society for Technical Education (ISTE), Institution of Electronics and Telecommunication Engineers (IETE), American Society of Mechanical Engineers (ASME), and Indian Society of Heating, Refrigerating and
