Sinha belonged to the generation of Indian cricketers active in the years following India's independence, a period during which domestic cricket in the country was organised primarily around the Ranji Trophy and other regional competitions conducted under the aegis of the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI).
Sinha is included in records of Indian cricketers of his era. His relatively short life span, ending in 1963, places his playing career within the post-independence decades when Indian cricket was steadily expanding its domestic structure and international engagements.
