Shri Ramswaroop Memorial University (SRMU) is a private university located on Lucknow–Deva Road, Barabanki, in the Indian state of Uttar Pradesh. It was established in July 2012 under the Uttar Pradesh Private Universities Act, and operates as a self-financed institution offering higher education across multiple disciplines.
The university is recognised by the University Grants Commission (UGC) and the All India Council of Technical Education (AICTE). It is also a member of the Association of Indian Universities (AIU), which facilitates inter-university cooperation and degree recognition among Indian universities.
SRMU offers programmes spanning a wide range of professional and academic fields. Its course offerings have approvals from statutory regulatory bodies including the Council of Architecture (COA), the National Council for Teacher Education (NCTE), the Pharmacy Council of India (PCI), and the Bar Council of India (BCI), enabling it to run programmes in architecture, teacher education, pharmacy and law respectively, in addition to its other faculties.
The university enrols students across more than 100 academic programmes, with a student community of over 10,000. Its campus in Barabanki district places it within the broader Lucknow metropolitan region, and the institution forms part of the network of private universities established in Uttar Pradesh under state legislation enabling private participation in higher education.
