Shiv Nadar University is a private university located near Greater Noida in the northern Indian state of Uttar Pradesh. It was founded in 2011 by Shiv Nadar, the founder and chairman of HCL.
The university was established as part of the philanthropic initiatives associated with the Shiv Nadar Foundation, and operates as a residential institution offering programmes across multiple disciplines.
On 3 August 2022, Shiv Nadar University, Delhi-NCR, was recognised as an Institution of Eminence by the Ministry of Education, Government of India, becoming the youngest university to receive this recognition.
