Sanchore district is an administrative district in the Indian state of Rajasthan. It was carved out as a separate district from the erstwhile Jalore district as part of a reorganisation of districts in Rajasthan announced by the state government in 2023. The district takes its name from the town of Sanchore, which serves as its administrative headquarters.

Sanchore is a historic town in the south-western part of Rajasthan, situated near the state's border with Gujarat. The area lies in the broader Marwar region and forms part of the transition zone between the Thar Desert to the north and the more agriculturally productive plains extending towards Gujarat. Before the formation of the new district, Sanchore was a tehsil and sub-divisional headquarters within Jalore district.
The Government of Rajasthan, then headed by Chief Minister Ashok Gehlot, announced the creation of several new districts in 2023 with the stated objective of improving administrative reach and service delivery. Sanchore was among the new districts notified during this reorganisation, alongside others such as Balotra, Deeg, Khairthal-Tijara, and Phalodi. The reorganisation increased the number of districts in Rajasthan substantially.
The district lies in south-western Rajasthan and shares a boundary with Gujarat. The terrain combines arid and semi-arid features, and the Luni river basin influences parts of the surrounding region. Agriculture, livestock rearing, and trade with neighbouring Gujarat are important to the local economy.
As a district of Rajasthan, Sanchore is administered by a District Collector and Magistrate appointed by the state government, supported by a Superintendent of Police for law and order. The district falls under the jurisdiction of the Rajasthan High Court, which sits at Jodhpur.
The creation of Sanchore district is intended to bring administrative offices, revenue services, and developmental programmes closer to residents of the south-western tehsils that were earlier part of Jalore. The town of Sanchore itself is known regionally for its historical and religious associations, including Jain heritage sites in the wider area.
