Sam Northeast

Overview

Sam Alexander Northeast (born 16 October 1989) is an English professional cricketer. A right-handed batsman, he made his senior debut in 2007 and built his early career with Kent County Cricket Club.

Northeast played for Kent until 2017. He captained the Kent First XI for most of the 2015 season and was formally appointed club captain in 2016. He continued as captain through 2017 before being replaced ahead of the 2018 season, after declining to sign a contract extension committing himself to the club in the longer term.

In February 2018, Northeast signed for Hampshire. Later that month, he made his debut for the England Lions against the West Indies A in Antigua. In July 2022, he scored 410 not out in a first-class innings.
