Rory Joseph Burns (born 26 August 1990) is an English cricketer who plays as a left-handed opening batsman. He has represented the England Test cricket team and captains Surrey in first-class and List A cricket in the English domestic circuit.

Burns is a specialist top-order batsman in the English first-class structure. He plays his county cricket for Surrey, one of the eighteen first-class counties in England and Wales, and has held the captaincy of the side across the longer formats and List A cricket.
As captain of Surrey, Burns has led the county to four County Championship titles, in 2018, 2022, 2023 and 2024. The County Championship is the premier first-class domestic competition in England and Wales.
Burns made his Test debut for England in 2018. He has been part of England's Test set-up as an opening batsman.
Burns is notable as a long-serving Surrey captain who has overseen one of the most successful periods in the county's modern Championship history, with multiple titles in consecutive seasons during the 2020s. As an England opener, he is among the players who have featured at the top of the Test order in the post-Alastair Cook era.
