Overview

Ravenshaw University, formerly known as Ravenshaw College, is a co-educational state university located in Cuttack, Odisha, on the eastern coast of India. It is one of the oldest educational institutions in the country, and its history is closely linked with the history of modern Odisha.

The institution was founded as Ravenshaw College in 1868 and was conferred university status in 2006. Over the years, it has grown from a single college into a multi-disciplinary university serving students from across the region.

The university is organised into nine schools and thirty-three academic departments, with a student enrolment of nearly 8,000. It offers programmes across a range of disciplines and remains a prominent centre of higher education in Odisha.
