Ramesh Kumar

Overview

Ramesh Kumar (born 1956) is an Indian politician from Delhi. He has been associated with the Indian National Congress and represented the South Delhi constituency in the Lok Sabha, the lower house of the Parliament of India.

Kumar contested and won the 2009 Indian general election from the South Delhi parliamentary constituency on an Indian National Congress ticket.

He is the son of the late Raghunath Singh, and the brother of Sajjan Kumar, a fellow Congress politician who was convicted and sentenced to life imprisonment in connection with the 1984 anti-Sikh riots.

Kumar studied up to Class 10 at the Government Senior Secondary School, Shakurpur, Delhi, and passed the examinations in 1971. He subsequently discontinued his formal studies.
