Ragini (27 March 1937 – 14 December 1976) was an Indian actress and dancer who worked across Malayalam, Hindi, Tamil and Telugu cinema. She was the youngest of the Travancore Sisters, the trio comprising Lalitha, Padmini and Ragini, all of whom were known for their training in classical dance and their contributions to Indian films.
Ragini began her acting career in the mid-1950s, often appearing alongside her elder sister Padmini. Her work spanned multiple language industries, reflecting the cross-regional appeal that the Travancore Sisters enjoyed during the period. In addition to films, she also performed in numerous stage dramas.
Among her notable Hindi films, she starred opposite Shammi Kapoor in Mujrim (1958). She also played the role of Parvati opposite Trilok Kapoor, who portrayed Shiva, in the mythological film Shiv Parvati (1962). The arrival of Ragini and other South Indian actresses in Hindi cinema is regarded as marking the beginning of an era in which dance occupied a prominent place on screen.
Ragini died of breast cancer on 14 December 1976.
