Smitten beyond reason, she takes up a job at a children's library run by the eccentric Pankaj Vajpayee in order to remain physically close to Nikhil. The plot tracks her increasingly invasive attempts to insert herself into his life, while she balances relationships with her flatmate, mother, and colleagues.

Sumukhi Suresh, a Bengaluru-trained writer and stand-up comedian, conceived Pushpavalli as a long-form character study built around a lead who is at once endearing and unsettling.
